Question

Glossary not working on publish

Hi all,

I know this issue has been posted before in a number of threads, but so far I have not come across a solution that works for me.

Here's the problem:

Any glossary I create using the learning interactions option works fine when using the Preview option from within Captivate. When, however, published to the Computer (HTML5 output), this is what I get:

A whole lot of nothing. In the example above, I used the most simple glossary, no advanced actions, nothing changed in the timeline, just imported the learning interactions widget and published the project.

Now I have read that learning interactions appear properly only when passed through a server or LMS after publishing. I'm not sure though if this is correct since I have received different opinions on this one.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Yes, please upload to a webserver (or a LMS if it is a SCO). Especially learning interactions for HTML5 output are 'sensitive.

Are you sure not to have strange characters in the Glossary words?

Which exact version number are you using? The present verson is 9.0.2.437

Thanks Lilybiri! I found out that the issue is somewhat browser specific:  while I get the blank screen in Chrome, it works fine in Firefox or IE. Any idea why this might be?

Also, I have the problem (in FF and IE) that the Glossary appears for the duration of the slide (3 secs) and then disappears. How do I make it stay so the user has time to interact with it?

Also, could you elaborate what you mean by strange characters?

Thank you so much for your help!

PS: 9.0.2.437 is the version I am using.

Can you check your version number, please? Maybe you don't have the latest version and something has changed in Chrome if my memory is correct.

Glossary is a static interaction, it never has a pausing point. To pause the slide, add a button or a click box that has a pausing point. You could make a button 'Done', to be clicked by the user, and to which you attach the action 'Go to Next Slide'. This tip and more to be found in:
