Glossary Widget Import Issues?

I am using the Glossary Widget and have an xml file that imports just fine.  It includes ~3,000 lines of xml with a large number of terms and definitions.  However, once I try to preview or publish the lesson, the Glossary won't show when an action is called to display it.  It works fine if I hand-jam terms and definitions into it, but appears that it doesn't wan to work with a large xml file even though it accepted it into the Widget.  Anyone else out there with a similar issue? Ideas?
