Question

Go to slide is going to wrong slide

I am running into a problem where I have a quiz and am sending the learner to the slide with the correct answer when they get the answer incorrect twice. It's worked just fine for me before.  But in the lesson I'm working on now, I will send the learner back to let's say Slide 10 and it instead takes the learner back to Slide 5. I did take the original Captivate file and split it in half to make two presentations because it was getting awfully long.

Is Captivate numbering the slides elsewhere that might conflict with what I see on my screen?  I have a feeling it might be something like this but I can't see where to fix it.

I am using Captivate 8.

thank you.

More information is needed, but here is already a tip: never use slide numbers in advanced or simple actions, always label the slides.

I have changed the names of each slide in the TOC to a name, instead of using the slide numbers (I didn't know where else to make that change).  However, when I try to "jump to slide", I'm still only offered numbered slides.  Is there somewhere else I need to make the change so that the slides are named and not numbered?

I also still see them as numbered in the filmstrip along the side.

thank you.

Names in the TOC will override the given names to slides. Each slide and object has a text field on top of the Properties panel, which is meant to give a name. Those slide names will show up in the Filmstrip, and if you create or reset the TOC will also appear in the TOC.
