Group license Adobe Captivate

Hi,

We're a company specialising in e-learning development and we need (and already have) several Captivate licenses. As for CC, I would like to manage all subscriptions at once, but this doesn't seem possible. This is really frustrating. The instruction at the site says : 'you have to register with a different ID'. Needless to say that it is really user unfriendly; it will force me to make several IDs, download the order information and monthly invoices one by one. What a waste of time!!! I would be very happy if someone is able to inform me about the possibility to have grouped licenses and grouped payments (ideally on a year basis).

Besides, trying to order, I got several error messages and strange feedback such as 'you should order at the Dutch site' while we're established in Belgium. Please do something in order to keep your customers happy... I was unable to reach you by phone, no possibility to get in touch with Adobe staff by any other means... If this is the way Adobe treats customers, than it is becoming less and less probable that we will recommend Captivate to customers; instead, we will switch to other solutions.

Hopefully the answers through this channel will change my opinion??

Kind regards,

Winnie

Volume licensing won't work unfortunately as they require a "boxed" purchase - not the subscription model and also have minimum quantities of 10+ licenses. At least that was the information we got from them last time we contacted them.

We are battling with the same problem. We have 6 individual Captivate license, generating 6 invoices every single month. Our Creative Cloud subscription is billed in one single invoice monthly and offer an administration interface to manage users and licenses.

The best way would of course be for Captivate to be included in the Creative Cloud offering (as all their other applications are) but that would deprive Adobe of a seperate revenue stream so probably wont happen until pigs can fly :)

I think you are stuck with how things are now unfortunately.

The glitch with ordering is due to their geo-location restrictions on their store. Adobe operates with differential pricing. The price in the US is $30 per month and in my country it amounts to $41 per month. You should be able to get their online chat function to work. They are normally quite helpful.

Hi Winnie,

Your best option is probably to contact the volume licensing department of Adobe (http://www.adobe.com/howtobuy/buying-programs.html). They should be able to arrange a deal with your team and to give you the necessary tools in order to manage your subscriptions.

Though I've never done that for captivate, the school I work at (in Brussels) has such a deal for the Adobe Creative Cloud licensing and it has been very helpful.

I hope it helps..

Damien
