Question

Hand cursor changes to arrow when the shared action button changes state

Hi!

I have a project in which I have created a custom play-pause button and a custom sound toggle button (using shared actions). It all works well in the preview mode, but when I have published the project there is a problem with the hand cursor. The cursor is a hand in the normal state of the buttons, but an arrow in the other states (paused and mute). Can I do anything to fix this? I want it to always be a hand cursor. (I'm using Captivate 2017)

Thanks for your help!

I will double-check when I have access to CP. How did you set up the states? Did you use the approach which I explained in this article:

1 action = 5 Toggle Buttons - Captivate blog

That article was written for version 8. I jknow there are issues with CC toggle button in 2017, not any other issues. Are those shape buttons on the master slide or timed for the rest of the project?

Hi Lilybiri!

Thank you for helping me!

I have only two states of each button: "Normal" and "sound_off" for the sound toggle, and "normal" and "play" for the play-pause button.

The buttons are neither on a master slide, nor timed for the rest of the project. Instead they are copied to the slides where they should be visible. They are image buttons, as I wanted to use a graphic style which I couldn't create using the smart shape tool in CP. Also I want them to appear only in a part of the project. (I only want the play-pause button to be visible when showing a software simulation. The sound-toggle button has a different color depending on the chapter of the course.) I have noticed that image buttons can neither be on a master slide or being timed for the rest of the project.

I am on the road, difficult to answer everything. I never use the old image

buttons, shape buttons can be filled with any combination of image and

text, they are the only interactive objects that can be put on a master

slide or timed for rest of project. Software simulations use the blank

master slide. For more control use timed for rest of project, shape button

gets an ID (name) which you.can use in the On Enter action of a slide to

Hide or Show. Keep the Inbuilt states Rollover and Down, maybe the hand

cursor will aopear.
