Question

Handling of Multiple Attempts

Hi

Im running a captivate created SCO in moodle 2, there are 10 lessons of 50 slides with a 10 slide quiz at the end making 60 slides in total. Passing the quiz allows the user to go to the next item etc......evrything works as expected but there is major problem and I need to find a way to slove it

Is there anyway possible to prevent a learner clicking on a lesson again clicking a few slides and finding that the green tick has now been replaced by a red cross and see that it has now overwritten the pass score.

I'd be happy to either stop the user entering the SCO or

better let them click about knowing that the score is safe.

It seems to me like  a really basic thing to do but this is begining to seem like a big showstopper to me, coz I cant find a way to do it.

any help would be great

Whether or not this is achievable depends on the functionality available from the LMS.  The Captivate SCO module doesn't store anything internally to record whether or not it was done previously.  So you are reliant on the config options in the LMS to determine what the result would be if the user attempted a module again that they had previously passed.

Moode has some settings around how to handle scoring of a module after repeated attempts.  Look for settings that allow the highest score to be retained after multiple attempts.  See whether that means that the user's passed status for the module is retained if the attempt it again and dip out halfway through.

Thanks rod

Unfortunately this doesn't work and the project is pretty much dead in the water. The 10 lessons I have made in captivate all use restricted access in moodle so passing number 1 means you can click on module 2

The problem is that if a user is on module 8 and they go back and

.......sorry cut off too early

After a week of trying to sort this out its still not working. No takers on the SCORM moodle forums.

If anyone on these forums can offer any light.

Question

1. Is it pssible for the moodle LMS using a captivate 5 created SCO to NOT overwrite the pass score..anyway anyhow?

The Problem

2. I have 10 lessons in topic format and if a learner gets a pass mark on the first lesson it allows them to access to the second lesson... and so on. ( This is standard moodle 1.2 SCORM stuff)  Now if a user has worked through all the lessons and is on lesson 10 they quickly check out lesson one again to review something....BUT if they just click on a few slides of lesson 1 and then close the window, every lesson from 2 to 10 is now greyed out again, coz moodle sets the score of lesson one to fail!!! the whole project is now usless. I have tried eveything I can think of and im getting weary of the whole thing!

I have attached my SCO and the captivate file, they are small in file size if anyone can get this to work it would make my day and stop me being such a grumpy git this christmas
