Some of my images in CP7 have turned a patch of red on the LMS.  I have inserted new images but problem still persists. Any solutions?

Thanks.

Thanks for your response BDuckWorks and RodWard.

Below is a screen shot of my screen.

Images are JPEG and yes they are OK when exported from library. Package has been working fine for a couple of months on the LMS until this morning.

I'm afraid you didn't say if you've published as HTML or SWF.

If it was HTML, you may be able to update the graphic directly on the LMS without republishing, but that is rather unlikely, since you mentioned the file was in the library.

I would go into the source file and try to flatten the number of colors, minimize the resolution (make sure it matches the size on the screen in the published version) and export it as a new file in JPG, PNG, and GIF formats (depending on the complexity of the image and the formats supported by the LMS.) Then test each option for the desired result.

It may help to use different files as background on different slides and post a single project to the LMS's DEV or Testing site.

Is there a gradient in the original that is being represented by the red color?

That could also be an issue, you might check the LMS's documentation to see if any graphics substitution or compression is taking place, the gradient might cause an error in older compression techniques or JPG file formats. You might need to force JPEG 2000 compatibility and verify the LMS will support it.

You say 'some of my images,' have you investigated to see which formats are affected and which aren't?

    JPEG vs PNG for example?

Are they OK when you export them from the library?

Generally, it will help others help you to know specifics of your setup:

What specific version of Cp7: 7.x.xx?

What platform and OS version: Windows 7 Home/Professional/Student Edition or Mac OS 10.5.5?

What type of output you have specified: HTML / SWF / Both?

What type of project you're editing: Standard or Responsive?

I know it's a lot of detail, but it also helps if you can post a screen shot of the results you are seeing.

In most cases this issue is related to 24bit or 32bit PNG images with transparency.  See if you can swap the images out for high-res JPG equivalents.
