Question

A quiz was created but when it plays after each question, it says "correct or incorrect" then Click anywhere on the screen or next to continue..

First, there is no next anywhere. There is only submit

If i click submit it has to be clicked twice for it to proceed to next question. Or you can click it once and on the screen anywhere once to proceed.

I need to edit the text on the review screen of each question to delete the word next and anywhere on screen and just say, click submit to continue.

Or not sure what to do. They already click submit when they answer

You are certainly not the first to be wondering about the design of question slides. I tried to explain the two-step design for versions before Captivate 9 (you didn't tell which version you are on) in this blog post:

Question Question Slides in Captivate - Captivate blog

Although that article is about 4 years old, it is still daily visited, which explains the necessity for many users to understand question slides.

The Submit button is the most important button, it has the two-step Submit process built in:

    1. User clicks on Submit button: the feedback messages appear and user needs time to read them; for that reason the quiz slide remains paused at its pausing point (visible on the Timeline by the pausing symbol and a thin vertical line at its exact location). Because a second user action is required, the default feedback messages have the invitation to press Y or to click on the slide to trigger the second step
    2. If the answer was correct, or incorrect but attempts are exhausted, the playhead will be released and the actions set for Succes or Last attempt are executed. Default actions are set to Continue: that means that the playhead will visit all the frames after the pausing point (default = 1.5 sec, 45 frames) and then continue to the next slide. If you want to shorten that 'waiting time' you can change the actions to 'Go to Next Slide' or you can move the pausing point closer to the end of the timeline.

The Skip button (in Captivate 9) is meant to Skip the answer, if you don't want to allow Skipping, do not show that button (it is unchecked by default in CP9).

In previous versions that button could have the label Next, because it had two functions:

    1. During Quiz it was a Skip button
    2. During Review it was a Next button

I am puzzled by your sentence 'I need to edit the text on the review screen of each question to delete the word next and anywhere on screen and just say, click submit to continue."

Which version are you using, please? What do you mean by 'Review screen'?

As for skipping the first step in the Submit process, I explain extensively in that blog post how to do that. But reflect: is this what you want, not giving time to the user to see feedback?

The Next button is actually called SKIP in the Captivate Quiz tab.  If you don't see either one on the quiz slide then it's possible this button is deselected in Quiz tab.

The first click on Submit is to evaluate the answer as correct or incorrect and then show feedback captions.  The next click anywhere on the slide will dismiss the feedback caption and execute whatever action you have set up for ON Success or On Last Attempt for that quiz slide.
