Help! something is stopping my .htm files from displaying in a browser

Something is stopping my published.HTM files from displaying in a browser.  I can’t figure out what’s going on but it’s been going on for a few days on two different development work stations. When I publish the publish is successful displays. When asks do you want to see the output what happens is the browser opens and it displays the black background I set in skin editor, but no content. If I click on the .swf in a folder, the project display in a browser.
