Help with adding to an existing Captivate 9 project

I need to add videos that I have created in Captivate 9 to an existing Captivate 9 project that a former teammate created.

I need to hide the playbar in my videos so that I can just embed them in the existing project and use that playbar.

I have deselected the "Show Playbar" box in the skin editor. When I publish the project that I created as a video (custom or HD) the playbar still shows.

When I publish as an SWF file, the playbar does not show. I would like to embed the SWF video in the existing Captivate9 project, but I don't know how.

When I publish the SWF file to my computer, it creates a zip file. I just don't know how I can embed that video/file into the pre-existing project.

    The main issue you first describe is that you need to add videos to an existing Captivate file. The videos you want to add have been created in another Captivate file you made. You also want the playbar to be hidden in these videos.

    Next, you've tried to hide the playbar by turning off the "Show Playbar" function.

    Then you say that you have published your file as a SWF file and the playbar does not show, but that you don't know how to embed that SWF file.

    There are two methods of hiding a playbar in Captivate. One hides the playbar for the course and that is found in the Skin Editor under Themes, the other can hide a playbar on an imported video. If you've exported video from a Captivate file, simply import that video and hide the playbar with the Video Properties. I hope this helps, but if this does not make sense, hopefully someone else will step in with a better understanding of what you are asking.

    I think we may be talking about two different types of content here.

    It looks to me like the 'video' being discussed is MP4 output from Captivate, not SWF.

    If you want to bring an MP4 into a Captivate CPTX project file, then you would be using Media > Video, not Media > Animation.

    Then you would need to specify whether it will be an Event Video or Slide Video.  Event Videos may have their own playbar, but if the final output is HTML5, the browsers may have their own ideas about whether or not your video looks the way YOU want it to.

    Now that the playbar to the video has been hidden, how do I mute the sound on the video. I do not want the participant to hear the audio.

    Hi Jennifer.

    I don't quite understand your video issue; I've tried to recreate your issue on my machine but not having the problems you describe. However, if you want to add a SWF file to your course file, click the Media button in the ribbon bar at the top and select add Animation, then you can import your SWF file.

    Also, be sure that the zip files check box is not selected when you publish.

    When I go thru the keystrokes that you described and I go to the place that I published the video I do not see the SWF file that I can click on. A file only appears if I create a video of the type HD or Custom or I check the box for zip file when I create the SWF file.
