help with download speed please

Hi. I would like to know why a tutorial made with captivate takes a few minutes to download before playing, when the same video created with camptasia starts straight away. Is there anyway to get captivate to do the same, speed-wise? (I am uploading the videos to an internal corporate server that can be access by any of 3,000 people.)

    Hi anynameanyname and welcome to our community

    If you are using Captivate 3, click Edit > Preferences... > Project node > Start and End node. Try DE-selecting the loading screen option.

    With this option enabled (which it is by default) your project must load up 60% into the browser before it will begin playing. This probably accounts for the delay. However, keep in mind that while it delays the start, its intention is to make playback smoother, so your end user encounters no pausing and buffering as the movie is in progress.

    Thank you. I will try that. Is there anything else that might affect the download speed, for example will it be slower if I publish it for flash 7, flash 8 or flash 9?
