Help with States & images

Hi all,

I need some help please, i'm very new to Captivate!

I have created a slide and want to use the State View to reveal text behind images.

On the screen shot below - you'll see i have 2 black smart shapes and have put an image on each. The one on the left (green image) works perfectly!

Yet the one on the right - blue image - doesn't!!

The central blue image is supposed to disapear in rollover or down state as shown on the middle image. and yet in preview mode (base image) it's still there in the centre and covering the text.

Any ideas appreciated!

I have to ask some more details, please? The screenshot is too small to detect what I need to know. There is no screenshot of the State view for the left shape button, at least I suppose it is a shape button.

You talk about 'shapes': are those static shapes or shapes used as shape buttons? The states 'Rollover' and 'Down' are InBuilt states for interactive objects like a button or a shape button.  Those InBuilt states have restrictions: they need to have the same size and location as the Normal state of that interactive object. Is the image the fill of the shape button or an extra image on top of it?

If you want to create Rollover and Down states for any other object than an interactive one, you cannot do that out of the box with Captivate. One solution is to use the CpExtra widget (only for HTML output) that was recently released by InfoSemantics (not free).
