Help with Timing

On blank slides (not question slides), I have created questions using text captions and the answers using buttons. However, I'm still a beginner with Captivate and have the following questions:

1. How do I set the timing so that only the first question and set of answers appears at the beginning and then the second question and set of answers appears after the first has been answered?

2. How do I add a question (text caption) that only appears if a certain button is clicked?

3. The button properties for "if the user clicks on the button" does not allow the failure box to appear. How can I edit it so that if a certain button is clicked (i.e., the wrong answer) the failure caption appears.

Thank you in advance for your help, it is tremendously appreciated, I've been working on this for about three hours! Also, in case anyone thinks of suggesting it, the quiz slides cannot be used because it wouldn't be efficient. I have several short questions that must be asked in one slide and the quiz slides aren't capable of this.

1) You can set the action of the first button to be "continue". Then, time the stuff you want to show up next to come after the first button's pause time. You can set the first button to "rest of slide" if you want it to remain, or have it end at a specified time if you want it to go away when the second set comes up.

2) Hmmm. I'm thinking of a work around that might be too laborious: button with a success message (that you actually caption with "sorry, no" text); then being replaced by a button without that message (user wouldn't see the switch) when you no longer want the fail message to appear. Gosh that's tortured. Maybe someone else has a better idea.

Good luck,
Jenny
