Hi,

I've been given the task at work of creating a 'wish list' for the finance department in terms of what IT programs we need.

I want to use adobe captivate 8 to create online learning modules. What Add-ons should I request ie

do I need an audio add-on?

do I need adobe creative cloud?

do I need stock photo/asset money?

Your help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks very much,

    Hello,

I will try to give you some answers:

    1. Audio: you can record VO directly in Captivate, it has limited audio editing functionality and you can manage audio clips; however if you want the best quality of audio you can use a dedicated application like Audition (in the CC) or Audacity (free). Personally I'm using Audition.
    2. Graphics: you can import still graphics and video. Captivate has a small set of editing functionality for still graphics (alpha, tint, crop....). Of course for best quality I will always use the roundtripping functionality with Photoshop but lot of users do not need it. Same with Illustrator or a video editor. Video editing (with exception of the included Video Demo creator for capturing demonstrations of applications) is very limited.
    3. Captivate comes with a bunch of Characters as stock photos, but not with any other free assets.

Just tell them you want the Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.  That way they're only paying a flat monthly fee and can get Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Audition, Acrobat and many other apps all included in the same low price.  Don't buy these apps separately.  You'll pay far more than you need to.
