Hi, does anyone know whether HTML5 output from Captivate requires Java Runtime Environment to be installed on a learner’s machine?

I’m pretty sure a developer building a Captivate course needs Java Runtime Environment installed on their machine, but does an end user need it to view a published HTML5 SCORM 1.2 course. I have a client who has banished JRE from all their desktop environments and I want to make sure they can still use the Module.

Many thanks to anyone who knows the answer.

The end users just need a web browser capable of playing HTML5.  Any modern web browser can do that.

But if you are using a later version of Cp9 or Cp 2017 to build this content, then your LMS web server also needs to have JSON files enabled, otherwise your content won't play.

Hi Rod, many thanks for your answer.... I will check that their LMS has JSON files enabled. Thanks again. Ashley
