Question

Hide selection rectangle for slide items in HTML5

Captivate 9:

In my course, I have the box in Preferences UNCHECKED. When I "Preview in Browser" the Yellow highlights appear around the buttons when tabbing.

When I try to preview using "HTML5 in Browser" there are no Yellow highlights around the buttons. I thought unchecking the checkbox "Hide selection rectangle for slide items in HTML5" was suppose to make them appear? Does this not work in HTML5 (IE 11)?

The yellow selection rectangle is native to Flash, not HTML.

In HTML IE puts a dotted line around elements, but it seems Captivate turns that off.

Chrome acts differently for some selected objects and puts a blue rectangle around them.

Then why does the checkbox in Preferences say "Hide selection rectangle for slide items in HTML5"?

I guess the important question is: Does tabbing still work in screen readers like JAWS even though there is no yellow highlight?

Honestly, I haven't been able to tab to anything other than interactive items. Don't know what Jaws actually reads though.

I've used Flash since it came out and the yellow rectangle is what I've always seen. Never in HTML.
