Question

Hiding playbar and progressing to next slide with buttons

I'm a Captivate noob so please excuse the usual cluelessness.

I want my project to (a) have the playbar hidden, and (b) the users to be able to navigate back and forth between the slides using 'back' and 'next slide' buttons.

I've been into Edit > Preferences > Start and End and clicked on 'autoplay'.

I've gone onto the skins editor and unchecked the 'show playback control' box.

The buttons are set up OK - as far as I can tell - to go back or forwards respectively.

When I preview the project I get a blank screen.

When I check the 'show playback control' and preview the project, it won't start until I click the 'play' icon on the playback bar, even though autoplay is supposedly enabled.

Can anyone help me out ?

I'm using Windows 7 / Captivate 8.

Thanks.

Hi there

Buttons typically pause playback until they have been clicked by the user. You can turn that feature off, of course, but that's the default behavior.

Can you share a screen capture of your timeline for the first slide?

Cheers... Rick

Hi Rick,

See the image below:

With "SmartShape_6" being the button.
