Hotspot not clearing

I am using Captivate 5 and a pdf output.  When a user answers a hotspot question incorrectly, clears the answer, then uses the back button the incorrect answer is still selected when they return to the slide.  Clicking clear then does nothing.  I have selected "Allow Backward Movement" in the settings.  Any ideas as to the problem?

The Clear button on all Captivate question types is actually designed just to clear the options you may have selected BEFORE you submit the question.

It's not meant to clear the question for another attempt AFTER submission.  If you want your learners to have more than one attempt at a question, allow multiple attempts at the question level.  You can also allow multiple attempts of the entire course and then allow the Retake Quiz button.  This will reset all questions (and the score) back to starting positions.

I have allowed multiple attempts at the question level.  Why would it still have this problem?  It only happens when someone uses the back button on a question.

Hello,

Multiple attempts at question level will allow the user to exhaust those attempts while remaining on the question slide. Another attempt will not be possible when getting back to a question. To clear question answers you do have to allow multiple attempts at Quiz level and the user has to click on the button Retake that is automatically added to the score slide in that case.
