how are accordion widgets 508 compliant?

I've been told that the accordion widget in later versions of Captivate is not 508 compliant. The issue centers of the user's ability to tab through content using keyboard shortcuts. Has anyone else experienced this requirement or know how I can add the ability to use the keyboard to "click" on tabs? I really like the accordion widget but may have to discard them to be 508 compliant.
