Question

How are you doing audience analysis specific to devices users are carrying while coming to work ? In context to creating a solid case for m-learning within the organization.

It would be helpful to know how we analyze our audience in terms of the types of devices they carry and use to learn while on the job. Currently I am finding a way with support from IT which could map out various logins across the network on different devices, amount of time the device is used will still be a difficult metric but its a good start.

One thing that's not too difficult to do in order to get some good metrics on this is simply to set up a web page somewhere and hook it up to Google Analytics, then send the link to everyone in your target audience asking them to look at the page.  Might be good to actually put some useful information on that page as a reason to go there.

The great thing about Google's Analytics reports are that they can give you a host of data about everyone hitting your page including which browser, browser version, monitor screen resolution, OS, and device being used.  Plus it's usually free.  Trying to get anywhere near this same level of information from your IT department could be a lot harder.
