How can a text entry box be made truly transparent?

I'm developing a software simulation in Captivate 9 which requires users to input text, but even if I set the opacity of the text entry boxes to 0%, the text entry box still obscures the material under the box when the simulation is published in HTML5. Is there a way to make text entry boxes truly transparent?
