Question

How can I change Default settings for software simulations

I'm desperate.  I need to create simultaneous Demo, Training and Assessment software simulations. The text callouts, highlights, and feedback boxes have to look like previous courseware.  Every time I set up the Preferences window settings for each sim type, and do a recording, Capt uses some default set of colors for the objects mentioned.  I have to then go into Object Style Manager, and change the crappy default color scheme to what I want and then Apply the new settings across the recorded slides.

How can I either modify the default color scheme, or save my scheme and use it when recording multimode?  I MS Word, I can open the Normal.dot file, edit as desired, and then save, and future docs have those changes applied for every new doc.  Is there a similar file for Captivate's default software sim settings?

PLEASE HELP!

Recording Defaults under Preferences are used to choose the styles for all objects The styles are set up in the Object Style Manager, and are part of the Theme. The other components of a theme are the Theme colors palette (I always start with that) and the master slides, eventually the skin. Maybe some articles I wrote could help you:

Start with setting up the Theme colors, set up the styles in the OSM which you need for recording (look in Preferences, Recording, Defaults). You probably do not need all, because both shapes and captions are there, and you'll choose for one of them. No need to bother about the master slides, because recording is using the Blank Master slide.
