I completely understand the confusion that can begin by different interpretations of a term. So here is the process I used.
I started with a new 'blank' project, which actually begins with the standard white theme. I then went into slide master and made changes to some of the objects (font type & size, horizontal line, logo, etc). Then I saved this as what I called the 'template' for this project. I began each module with my 'template' which I saved again for each module I made. Since I began with the same revised 'template/blank project with white theme' I thought if it was caused by something I had done to the original 'blank' project it would have been consistent in all of the modules not just a few.
I hope my explanation makes sense. That was a very good article. I didn't realize I could save, what I was calling, my 'template' as a theme within Captivate. I'll be doing that from now on.
Thank you for your help.
A template is something totally different, as I explained in that article. Your work flow with 'template' is even pretty dangerous, because saving over and over again (with different names) could lead to corruption more easily. This is perhaps what happened. A template is a cptl file where you want more than just design, have slides with placeholders, advanced actions, variables etc. It can only be used with File, New Project from Template and that means its resolution(s) are fixed.
