How can I paste a hyperlink?

I am having a lot of trouble inserting hyperlinks into text captions on Captivate 9.0.1.320. I copy the link from my browser window, click on the hyperlink icon but then I am not always able to paste it in. Sometimes it works, but mostly I just can't paste.

This is on a normal slide, by the way, not a quiz question.

Does anyone else experience this problem? How can I fix it?

Best,

Ruth

Is it a protected website maybe? I mostly use the shortcut key CTRL-C as well, but sometimes that seems not to work. Try once to use the right-click menu to choose Copy? Same for Paste.

Ok, I will walk you through it:

1) I open the webpage I want to link to (In Chrome):

2) I copy this link from the browser window by hitting Ctrl + C

3) I open Captivate and highlight the text (in a text caption) I wish to link:

4) I click the hyperlink button:

5) I highlight the URL and click Ctrl + V to paste over it. This is when nothing happens. The URL simply stays highlighted, rather than the new URL being pasted in.

I hope this makes the problem clearer. Thanks very much for your help.

All the best,

Ruth

ps. I should have added that, in step 2, I also highlighted the URL before hitting Ctrl + C to copy.

Can you offer some examples? I am puzzled because I never had such a problem.
