Question

How can I set special variables for quiz questions?

The ID wants to score 5 pts on a first attempt and only 2.5 on a second attempt. The second attempt goes to a demonstration of what they should of clicked on. The adjusted score should show up in the quiz results page. I've tried assigning variables and building advanced actions to execute within the page  but they have no impact on the final score displayed. Any ideas if this is even possible? Thanks

Maybe have a look at this blog post, could be helpful:

It is not a total answer, but decrementing with attempt is treated. Beware: if you have the results to be transferred to a LMS it will be a lot tougher. You'll have to explore my blog more for that.

I tried using this but I'm trying it with a click box rather than the text box you used in the post. Can it work with a click box?

No time to try it out myself, But I don't see any reason why it should not work.

Just ran through Lilybiri's post. My understanding is that you need to create a custom results page, which will contain the scores passed on from the advanced actions assigned to "On Success" and "On Failure" conditions of your click box.

Are you using default questions or have you created custom questions? Which version of Captivate are you using?

These are computer simulations where we are asking the user to click on the correct click box. If they do, they receive 5 pts, if not they would score 2.5 and be taken to demonstration of where to click.
