Question

How do I create a hotspot or a rollover with a click action?

When a user clicks on a image or word/phrase they will be able to get additional information.  I have a lot of information on one screen so using all rollovers will be cluttered for the user. When the rollover is added, is there a way to make the rollover - a click action where they have to click on it to see it vs. rollover or a way to create a hotspot to click for additional information.

Maybe you could try to think about another solution? Rollovers are not a good idea anymore, since they don't work on mobile devices. You can use a multistate shape, where you have the content divided over states. Use hypelinks in the text to go to a next state.

This can be done with text as well? If I want to display additional content?

Have a look at these blog posts, examples of using Hyperlinks for something else than just linking to an URL:

More is in a... hyperlink - Dropdown Menu - Captivate blog
