Question

How do I get my quiz to restart in my LMS?

Hello all

I have a quiz created in Captivate 5 that I have entered in a Moodle 1.9 LMS.

The quiz works fine the first time through, but the the second time you open it you will be taken back to the same slide (the end slide) and cannot re-attempt the quiz.

I have tried adjusting settings in Captivate and Moodle with no success.  I've got the Captivate file set up to close the project when completed.  In Moodle the quiz opens in the same screen.

I presume this is a problem with the Close function, which I read somewhere is Javascript related.  If this is the case, I'd really appreciate knowing what javascript code I need to attach to my quiz so that it will close correctly.  Or maybe it's something else - I just don't know.

Any help you could give me here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Mary

Also, you might try this:

In the (Captivate) Quiz settings, there is a button 'LMS Customization Settings..."  It's near the bottom, under the Reporting Level.

Anyway,

Dont send resume data.

Check that, and then the course will start over when your students re-launch the whole course.

Worked for me with a different LMS.

Enjoy!

If you are opening the Captivate movie in the Moodle SCORM player window with the SCORM navigation links beside it, you'll need to have the project Start End settings as Stop Project, not Close Project.  You can only get away with Close Project if you set Moodle to open the SCORM in a separate window to the player.  The SCORM player needs its own window to remain open.

Your issue with the project jumping straight to the end slide on the second playthrough might be due to the TOC > Self-paced Learning setting being on.  Untick this box under TOC settings dialog in Captivate and see if this fixes things.  If it was on, and unticking it doesn't fix the issue, the Flash cookies (Shared Objects) that record the bookmarks might still be active.

You can delete them (in Win7) at: C:\Users\YOU\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects
