How do I make a project saved as a .cptx file public?

I have created a new project - my first one.  It's about a friend of mine, just to have a topic.  It is saved as a .cptx file.  From a Tutorial I took, I seem to remember that it needs to be in a certain format so my friend can see it.  How do I make it that way (I think it was a training file)?

Yes, there are several methods for Publishing a Project.  I guess my real question is which of these methods will alow someone who does not have Captivate software to be able to view a Project?  I tried HTM, but it opened up blank.  Any suggestions?

There has to be a way that you can save a Project and then later attach it to an email and send it to someone, yes?


Hi there,

You can publish as swf and send the published output or publish as pdf and send it. It will not require Captivate. It just needs Flash to be installed and today everyone has flash installed. Make sure you send the entire folder after publishing as SWF. And if you are publishing as PDF just send the PDF file.

You can also publish as .exe for windows and. app for mac but it will not transfer through email as email policy does not allow transfer of executables. In that case you can share it through DropBox or Google drive like sharing services.

Thank you for reaching Adobe Community.

It seems that you need to publish your project. There are couple of ways you can do it. Click File > Publish and choose an output you want. You can have a SWF(Flash), HTML for mobile devices or as an EXE for Windows and APP for MAC or a PDF.

You can publish in any of these formats. Choose whatever suits you.
