Question

How do I retain text in text entry box even when programme is closed?

I completed a programme recently made in Captivate where there was a large number of interactivity. Every answer I submitted in text entry boxes appeared on the following slide alongside the suggested answer which allowed me to compare the two.

Even when I close the programme and reopen it all of my answers were still there which allowed me to reflect on my submitted answers.

I am now making a programme and my client has requested this functionality but I can't find any way to do it. Whenever I close the project the text is all lost.

Adobe 'chat' was absolutely useless and the member of staff told me this was impossible and said he did not believe me that the screenshots I sent him were of a captivate file... (despite my screenshot of the adobe captivate load icon!!!)

I know that this can be done and wonder if it's done with advanced actions or through a widget etc.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Emily

I have no idea how you did that, because the normal behavior is indeed that all variables are reset. That includes the variables associated with a TEB. Michael Lund has a widget (SWF only) that allows to save and reload data, which can be user variables, if the user starts from the same system (with cookies).

This was a programme made by another company that I've just completed. I opened it just now and all the text I'd inputted is still there. My files have to be HTML compatible so I couldn't use SFW anyway. I have no idea how they managed to do that then!

Maybe they used JS in that case.
