How do i trouble shoot when "snap to window" won't allow me to select it?

I can not use Snap to window when trying to record in Epic Hyperspace. It allows me to select it briefly then deselects itself without manual intervention from me. I have checked all settings and both the captivate book and Epic recommends that I use the snap to window functionality but there is no way to force this selection. Both resources suggest clicking on the box but what do i do when i cant click the box?
