How do subscriptions work?

If I sign up for Captivate 9 and then 10 comes out, do I have to "close" or cancel my 9 subscription and open a new one for 10?

What happens to the files I created in 9? Thanks!

When Cp10 comes out you can just install that if you wish under the same subscription.  Your Adobe ID is all you need.

However, under the subscription arrangement you can only have two versions of Captivate working on your computer.  So if you had Cp8 and Cp9 under subscription and then installed Cp10, you would find Cp8 had stopped working.

Your Cp9 files will still be in Cp9 format unless you open and save them in Cp10.  From then on you would be unable to open them again in Cp9.  That's the way all Captivate versions work.  Captivate is Backward Compatible (because new versions can open previous version files) but not Forward Compatible (because previous versions cannot open newer version files).
