We are trying using an asset video (cutout people) but the transparency is lost during the publication in favor of a black background.
Thank's

We're using Captivate 9 or 2017

Thank's for your answers, that's what I feared...

Does anyone know a simple way to import an animated character ..?

An animation can have a transparent background, try using an OAM, not a video format like MP4.

MP4 doesn't support transparency, as did FLV/F4V  which was Flash-based and used for SWF output. Welcome to the HTML5 world.

My experience is that if you use the old version of flash video and an earlier edition of Adobe Media encoder you can have a transparent background in the flash video which will work in Captivate output to flash since it supported an alpha channel. If you are outputting to HTML5, Captivate will want to convert any flash video to MP4 which does not support an Alpha Channel thus your transparent background in your video turns to a black background.
