Question

How do you create a presentation with both Power Point slides and a video demo that maintains an appropriate aspect ratio for each?

Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble creating a presentation that incorporates both Power Point slides and a video demo. So far, the best aspect ratio I can find for ppt is 800 w 600 h. However, when I use this aspect ratio to ensure the ppt isn't skewed, it applies the same ratio to the demo slide I added, which makes the video demo too small to view properly.

Can anyone suggest how both can be incorporated without compromising the quality of either the ppt or the video demo?

Thanks!

I'd suggest you need to determine the best resolution for your video element, then modify the PowerPoint file to that resolution and import the slides to Cp so all the elements are at the same resolution.

PowerPoint has a 'Page Setup' dialogue that defaults to "Slides sized for On Screen Show (4:3)" which you can override to the width and height of your video. You may need to locate a calculator that will help you convert pixel measurements for video to inches for the PPT Page Setup dialogue.

If you leave your PPT at the default resolution and bring it into Cp, you'll likely make it less acceptable by re-sizing the PPT slides in Captivate.

I'll definitely try that. Thanks so much for the suggestion!
