Question

How do you duplicate a slide including all its layers?

I'm attempting to duplicate a slide and set set its duration to 0.1 seconds, and then paste it at a later point in the clip only for the purpose of repositioning the mouse cursor (since its movement is otherwise inherited between slides), but when pasting the duplicated slide nothing happens. It doesn't paste anything.

Is there a way to copy not only the slide itself, but all layers on its it, including the mouse, typing, etc? Currently it seems only possible to copy and paste the slide without the other layers, which is a grave disappointment.

Hi scoot-291 and welcome to our community

Have you tried clicking the slide and pressing Ctrl+D? (That's the keyboard shortcut to duplicate the slide)

Might be worth trying if you haven't.

Thanks for your help, but pressing ctrl + D makes no difference. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. When you duplicate a slide, it's not the same as copying it right? Duplicating here means you duplicate everything the slide contains including all its layers, and not just the slide itself, as what happens when you simply copy it, right? Otherwise, I'll be trying in vain.

Hi again

If all you had were normal means to duplicate a slide, you would be forced to select the slide, press Ctrl+C to copy it. Then press Ctrl+V to paste it. This should be working, but for some reason it appears it isn't. Selecting the slide and pressing Ctrl+D should accomplish in a single key combination what took two different actions the other way.

Is your project perchance stored on a network drive? If so, close it and copy it to the local drive. Reopen it and see if you can duplicate.

Cheers... Rick
