How do you pause a swf animation inside of Captivate?

how do you pause a swf animation inside of Captivate? I want my animation to pause when I press the pause button in captivates nav bar. The main timeline pauses but I also want my animation to pause. This is truly maddening. You would think this would be a common thing to do.

    What version of Captivate are you using?

    I seem to recall an option labeled "Synchronize with project" that may affect that.
