How to correctly Publish a Captivate 4 title?

Hi,

I am fairly new with Captivate4 and I seem to have an issue with loading titles on our LMS.

Can anyone provide a quick guide on how to set publishing preferences correctly?

Our LMS is powered by Mzinga and all I get to see when I upload the title is an empty screen with one button: "Return".

Does anyone have a similar experience and (hopefully) a solution?

Hope to hear form you soon!

Thanks!

Wim

Do you want to upload as a SCORM object (to have results and interactions reported), then you have to set up the preferences in the Manifest file. Go to Quiz Preferences, choose SCORM (1.2 or 2004, depending on your LMS) and set up the manifest. If this is what you want I will send you some indications when I have access to CP-software (not for the moment).

If there is no reporting necessary from the LMS, you could simply load a zip-file. Choose to publish as a ZIP. Normally you will have a HTML-file and a JS-file. Those are needed, it depends on the LMS how to load this up. Sometimes you can zip all three files (zipped SWF, JS, HTML) and instruct the LMS to open the HTML-file. Since I am not using the same LMS it is a little bit difficult to give precise instructions.

Hi,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I am indeed looking to publish it as a SCORM object.

However, the file I am testing with does not have any quizzes, it is

only a simple collection of a few recodings.

When I publish the title it gives an output of 11 different files:

I tried publishing to a zip file but Captivate gets stuck displaying the

message "creating zip file" and won't continue...

When I publish the 11 files under 1 folder in our FTP server (but not is

zip)that works well. However, in the LMS I am linking to the folder on

the FTP server and not to one specific file of the 11 published ones

(which is the same as what we do for courses created with our other

software (Lectora).

Any information you may have on publishing Captivate titles would be

very very much appreciated!

Hope I am making sense to you and that you can help further!

Thanks again...

Kind regards,

Wim

Hello Wim, I do not have access to a PC with Captivate yet, but can you explain a little bit more? Why do you have so much files? Do you want to publish several recorded CP-movies at the same time in one SCORM object? It would be a good idea to use the Aggregator at that moment, there you can "aggregate" different CP-movies.

To publish as a SCORM-object, you do not really have to include quizzes, a small interaction (such as clicking a button or introducing some text in a Text Entry Box are examples of interactions) is sufficient. It is a way of communication with the LMS. Which version of SCORM is supported?
