Hi,

I want to convert Chinese text to speech. I browsed through net and found that enable Install file for East Asian languages. I enabled that option. Since I don't have the CD for installing the fonts, I downloaded the fonts and tried to browse through a folder to select the downloaded chinese font. I am unable to select that font. Can any one help me how to install the chinese fonts in windows XP and convert the chinese text to speech in captivate?

Thanks,

Latha

Hello, I cannot help you with installing Chinese (Windows problem, but should be possible, ever succeeded in installing Japanese over here). But I have to disappoint you about the Text to Speech conversion in Captivate: in the present version (CP4) it is limited to the privileged users who are using English. Sorry about that.

Thanks Lily. I have a question here. So Adobe Captivate 4 offers only the feature of supporting different language captions alone is it? Even if we use different language caption, we cannot convert those caption to speech is it?

    Please clarify.

Yes, indeed. There are some facilities for translating, but limited to written text (Exporting to Word and reimporting, changing the terminology in TOC if you are using CP4). But the new feature Text To Speech is limited to English voices.

Personally I regret this very much, having to produce CP-simulations and assessments in three languages, so... Just hoping this will be better in the future. You could help by filling in a feature request (link is in the home page of the Captivate Forums), please...
