Question

How to import a YouTube video?

I need to import a YouTube Video into Captivate.  The dropdown menu did not provide an option to select a slide that contained media.  Therefore, I manually created a slide to import the video using the widget available .  As a result, I received an error message  stating "Preview using F11, F12 or publish to a Webserver to view".   How can I make the video play with the widget provided?

Assuming you provided the correct URL in the YouTube video widget, you have to do exactly as the message says to view the video...

Preview by pressing F11 or F12 key...or by selecting one of the Preview options on the toolbar.

When you're satisfied it works, publish your project and upload the project to a webserver, or LMS, or some web-enabled location where your users will view it.

I don't think you can integrate a YouTube video and run a published file locally or publish to .exe and have it work...but maybe.

Yes local youtube won't work if you use the widget. However if you get the embed code from youtube and put this into a html file then insert this using the HTML animation trick (by zipping the html file) then it will display the youtube locally.
