How to improve the quality of HTML5 animations?

Hi,

I`m using Captivate 9.0.2 and publish in HTML5.

My problem: If I animate some object in Captivate (i.e. a rectangle or some other shape/graphics) the animation stutters, twinkles, falters etc..... It`s nearly never a "smooth movement".

I animate the objects directly in Captivate; however, if I import an animation (for example from Adobe Animate) the quality of the animation isn`t much better. I know that in general animations in HTML5 used to be worse than in Flash. However, nowadays there exist perfect animations - even in HTML5 (but not with Captivate).

The quality gets a little bit better if I publish with a frame rate of 50 FPS, but is still far from satisfying.

Does anybody know some tricks / hints how to improve the quality of animations in HTML5 with Captivate? I like to produce a professional course and it`s not very professional if it stutters like it does.

Thank you in advance!

    Hi Michael,

That is a weird issue. I don't do a lot of animations in Captivate so I can't comment on your experience, you may want to try Adobe Animate though, and then import the OAM file. I've done that and they work really well. Also if you know Flash then a very easy learning curve.

Steve, are you pointing to Animate CC or to Edge Animate. The latter is much easier to use but development has been discontinued in favor of Animate CC (old Flash) which is a pity for everyone that only wants to make small animations.
