How to optimize for best loading

What steps do I need to take while building slides, and/or after, to ensure that the slide is as quick-loading as possible?

TIA!

One thing I would also recommend is going into the preferences for Preloader and adjusting the percentage.

I did not know about this until the other day and found great success with it. My users are on a small bandwidth so it would take 3-4 minutes to load a 10 megabyte module. By setting the Preloader to 10% it would load the first 10 percent then launch the module. As the user starts watching it is loading the rest of the module in the background.

Just a thought.

This sounds really, really promising! It's better than "just a thought" if it works!

Does anybody out there have more information or experience on this?

I'm starting to feel hopeful...

It's an option in the Preferences under Project > Start and End > Preloader %.

It's usually set to 100% by default but you can experiment with smaller percentages.  I usually try 25% to see if anyone experiences buffering at that amount.

Avoid video, keep audio to a minimum, resize all graphics to the exact size they need to be BEFORE inserting them into the Captivate slides.

Can't avoid video, and the kids can't read, so it's all audio instructions, questions and remediation at first! Guess optimizing photos is my only hope.

Will keeping the videos VERY short (which I do) help any? Most are less than a minute, and stream from Youtube privately.

Any other small things I can do? Best audio settings? Video settings?

Thanks, Rod!
