Question

how to pause a captivate movie

I am trying to import a flash file into Captivate that has interactivity in the flash file itself. The flash play head is sent to different frames in the flash movie when different hot areas clicked.

My goal is to import this flash file into captivate and have captivate wait until the user is complete interacting with the flash movie before it advances to the next slide. Is there a way to put a stop(); behavior on the captivate timeline?

Thanks,

Greg

Thanks, Rick...I was hoping there was a way to do it without a button...but I guess not.

    Hi Greg

Is there a way to put a stop(); behavior on the captivate timeline?.

Indeed, this is the default behavior of three different Captivate objects.

    * Text Entry Box (Pauses and waits for the user to type text)
    * Button
    * Click Box (Buttons and Click Boxes pause until the user clicks)

    Cheers... Rick

    Timely topic for me.

Rick (or anybody else), with regard to pausing a Captivate module until a user does something, how could I accomplish this while using the Text Input/Output flash that Silke posted on the Captivate Exchange? I want the movie to pause until the user types their name.

    TIA

    Hi geekygURL

One way would be to insert a Button Object on the page where you collect the data. Then after they type their name, have them click the button.

Or, you could do the same with a Click Box object. Just insert an image and position the Click Box object over the image. The image may simply say "Go" or whatever you want it to.

    Cheers... Rick
