How to record video demo of Captivate 9

Hi,

I'm trying to record a video demo of a procedure in Captivate 9 where I will capture parts of the Captivate 9 interface such as drop-down menus, the Properties panel, etc.

Here's the steps I took:

File > Record a New > Video Demo.

Then, in the popup window that appears, I selected the Application radio button. In the Select the window to record drop-down menu, Captivate 9 is not listed as one of the applications - so I can't record it.

When in video demo mode, I can view Captivate, but it just shows the stage, and not not the Filmstrip, TImeline, Properties panel, menu bar, etc.

Is it possible to do a video demo of Captivate using the video demo feature in Captivate? If so, how do I do it?

Thanks.

Try opening two instances of Captivate.   Then when you use one to create a Video Demo, you can choose the OTHER instance as the app that you record.

Paul Wilson's You Tube video shows how to record a video demo.  He uses an instance of Captivate 8 to record the demo video of  Captivate 9.  Adobe Captivate - Make a Screen Grab Movie Using Cp9 Video Demo Feature - YouTube

Another way to achieve it is to use something like TechSmith's Camtasia Studio or SnagIt (or other similar recording application) to record it.
