How to reduce inserted video resolution?

I have multiple slides with inserted slide videos at full HD resolution (1080p). The published file size is very large, so I want to downscale these slide videos to HD (720p) or lower. Going to "Modify > Rescale project" and decreasing the size doesn't affect anything at all.

Is there a way to downscale inserted slide videos direcly in Captivate?

What you did was just reduce the display size, not the actual video itself.  Just changing the browser display size of an HD video doesn't have any effect on its filesize.  You can see the filesize of the MP4s in the Captivate Library.

You need to re-encode the videos at the lower resolution and bitrate then reinsert them into Captivate.
