How to resize a Captivate project

I provide content to the company developers for training content. I don't get hands on with Captivate.

However, I have this crazy problem - the developers have a template that fits great on a 1280x1024 screen but doesn't fit vertically on wide format screens. However, most screens are 1.77:1 these days.

As a result, my students must scroll vertically in order to see the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.

The developers export both the SWF and HTML5. The SWF does resize properly but the HTML5 doesn't. HTML5 must be the default in our LMS because in multiple browsers, that is what is rendered. I only know that they export both because I was able to get one of the SCORM exports.

I have requested the developers check the monitor resolution and resize the CBT when it is displayed but they have refused. They say it is impossible. My research indicates that it should be easy in Captivate for them to check the monitor resolution and resize appropriately to avoid vertical scrolling.

I don't want to be a pain for these guys but I am not asking for responsive design here. We are strictly designing for desktop/laptop monitors here. I simply need the presentations to resize vertically to fit on various computer monitors so we don't have to scroll on all 43 CBTs the students have to sit through!

Thanks for any assistance.

Rod's right, scalable is a great way to go for standard (Blank) projects. If in the end you still want your projects resized to a more appropriate size the full instructions are below.

Ask them to try selecting the Scalable HTML option when they publish to HTML5 and see if that solves your issue.

Oh c'mon softskills - Now to see if I can diplomatically suggest trying this and not make enemies.

    Thanks for your answer!

If you don't want to make enemies it's possible to do it to the published files.

I wrote instructions somewhere on how to only allow a project to scale down not up. The graphics fall apart when they scale up.

I'll look and see if I can find it.
