How to resolve issue in Captivate 9 where objects seem to have hidden point values?

Just ran into a situation with a Captivate 9 project where my custom graded questions were not scoring correctly.  The percentage score was not calculating correctly.  My project advanced interactions had a Total Points of 70, but when the percentage was calculated it was using a value of 206.  Looking at the results from the SCORM preview, it showed a max point value of 206.

I was not able to locate those extra 136 points until I went slide by slide and used a text caption to show the system variable for Total Project Points.  Throughout the project I found that boxes I had placed on the slides as buttons would add points to the total project -- but no points would show for the button under Quiz properties.  The only way I could resolve the issue was to completely rebuild the project from a blank template.

Is this some type of bug in Captivate?  Has anyone else run into this?

That means the project was corrupted. Was it perhaps created from a template that was upgraded from an earlier version of Captivate?

Which exact version are you using now? Make sure it is the latest: 9.0.2.437.

Not only questions can be scored but all interactive objects can have a score. That allows to create custom questions. This is not at all a bug, it is normal . Interactive objects are click boxes, buttons, shape buttons, TEB's, interactive widgets/interactions.

Your best friend to check what is scored in a project is the Advanced Interaction Panel which you can find under the Project menu or with the shortcut key F9. They are not hidden at all, they are included in the quizzing system variables, also those appearing on the default score slide.

When you work with Advanced Interaction panel, and you detect a scored object which shouldn't be scored, select it in the panel. The object and its properties will show up. Look for the Reporting part of the Properties panel and you can uncheck that option, change the score or uncheck the option to add to total.

    Lilybiri,

Actually, i used the Advanced Interactions Panel in my quest to find the extra points.  They didn't show up there -- Ever.

The boxes that added points to the total project points and did show -- didn't show any points in the Reporting part of the Properties panel and checking and unchecking the option to add to the total didn't remove the extra points.  The extra points only disappeared when I deleted the object from the slide.
