How to use javascript to access variables from swf (Captivate 9) ?

Hi all,

I am very new to Adobe Captivate, I need your support for my new web application which uses swf files in its html or aspx pages.

These swf files are for e-learning, the application must control the progress (for each e-learning course) of each user such as

- User U1: course A - completed; course B - 80%; course C - 30%,...

- ....

- User Un: ...

I have tried googling articles about using javascript in host html to access variables of swf file but not successful.

Please let me know what I should do in this case.

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you're trying to capture scoring and interaction data from a Captivate elearning module, you would be better off investigating installing an open-source LMS application such as Moodle rather than trying to build something similar yourself.

As I said in my original answer, you seem to have no scope for your project and no budget, yet you may be potentially attempting something that would require days or weeks of work.  Please understand that everyone here has their own paying projects to complete.

Since you seem to be requiring the services of professionals with expertise in programming JavaScript solutions for Adobe Captivate and those people also have bills to pay and families to feed, I would suggest you first develop a detailed scope of the work you are expecting to be done and then work out what your budget is to pay for that work.

There may be people on this forum that could attempt such a project, but you should not expect them to work for free.

    Hello RodWard,

    Thanks for the answer.

Actually, my project includes 2 parts - one is designing e-learning courses; the other is for developing Website which uses the e-learning courses (swf files).

Now I received both swf & cptx files from another team and I need to develop a Website to manage & interact with swf files with the above requests.

Could you please help me on interacting with swf files from html by using javascript?
