HTML5: adding a movie clip does not render file

HI

I've added a short movie clip to a slide in my captivate file.  When I tried to publish it, a dialog box stating the following appeared:

This dialog box did not go away after an hour so I cancelled it.  Can you not have an .mp4 clip in an HTML5 file?

I don't see the option to convert to .mp4 anywhere on the format list:

If i need to convert the file twice, what are exact steps, please?

MP4 is the correct format for video in HTML output, but it look like the format you used is not 'correct' for Captivate. Can you try to convert the file (again) to MP4 using the Adobe Media Encoder. An older version (CS6) is packed with Captivate if you don't have a CC account.

HI

This is the process I followed:

1.  when I inserted the video, I got this message:

I selected YES and then got this:

As you can see the encoder launched and converted the file for me (into a .f4v format). Not sure why it converted it to that format when in the previous dialog box it stated it would convert it to .mp4.  This is the file i then loaded onto the slide. It works with the .exe output file but as I stated before, when I try to render in HTML5, it seems to hang the publishing process.

If it needs to be in .mp4 format, how do I convert it to that?

You have to choose the format to convert to in the AME:

FLV is the format used in Captivate for output to SWF.  I find it better to import a MP4 into Captivate, but the error you show on a screenshot seems to indicate that the mp4 has not the correct format used in CP. That is the reason why I recommended to convert it again. MP4 codec (H264) used in the AME is correct voor Captivate
