"HTML5 in Browser" preview not working...

Hello,

I have recently had the problem where the "HTML5 in Browser" preview does not work. All I get is the "loading" animation.

I have tried several different projects using both Chrome and Firefox.

Preview "In Browser" works fine.

Let me know if you have any ideas!

Thank you.

Hi Lilybiri,

I live in Germany and speak German, but I am American.  : )  Sometimes the German word order creeps into my English.  ; )   I think you speak Dutch, don't you?

I am looking for this preferences folder.  You have probably written about it, but I didn't see the path to it in that link...

Hi Ryan

Are you on a PC? If so, it's pretty easy to find the folder. Just close Captivate, then find the icon you use to open Captivate. Right-click it and look at properties. From there, you should see on the Shortcut tab at the bottom left is a button allowing you to "Open File Location". Click that and Windows Explorer opens. From there, find the Utils folder. Open that and you have a CleanPreferencesWin file that you can run.

Cheers... Rick

The original post is from 2015, but I have recently started using Captivate Classic and ran into the same issue. I tried all suggested options but none worked for me. What did work is copying and pasting the slides to a new project. This allowed for the HTML5 preview option to load. Hope this helps someone going through same issue presently!!

Did you check with the HTML5 Tracker under the Project menu if you have perhaps incompatible items?

Hi Lilybiri,

Yes, I do have incompatible items.  Will that keep the entire object from being able to be previewed as HTML5?

Hello Ryan,

Welcome to Adobe Forums

Could you please check the exact version of Captivate you are using (Go to Help> About Adobe Captivate) ?

If it is Captivate 8 then it should be updated to 8.0.1.242

Regards
