HTML5 Tracker - Meaning of Error Message

Hello,

I am going through someone's older Captivate module. When I ran it through the HTML5 Tracker, I got the following message for one slide:

"Slide transition (Use no transition)"

The slide has a fade transition, which I thought was HTML5-compatible.

Does the tracker's message mean I need to get rid of the fade or is there another meaning?

Thank you.

Slide transitions are not supported, there is no guatantee to see them in HTML5 output, although they may appear on desktop browsers. As a workaround you can apply effect on objects on the slide.

Slide transitions WILL work if the content is played through most HTML5 desktop browsers, but they are not guaranteed to work in mobile browsers.

I recently updated an SWF project I did for a client back in 2014 and republished to HTML5 after the updates.  I found the slide transitions still seemed to work fine in the HTML5 output.

If your content is ONLY going to be played on desktops, you can use slide transitions for HTML5, but I recommend you stick with the simple ones such as Fade or Wipe and stay away from the other more fancy ones.
