Question

I am new to using Captivate 13.1. Previously use Captivate Classic. How to setup forced navigation in Captivate 13.1 with a project created with imported powerpoint slides?

I am working on a project in Captivate 13.1 with slides created from imported Powerpoint slides.  I am unable to add buttons on the slides to continue to the next slide that only become active after the current slide has completed.  A button or clicking anywhere on the screen to move to the next slide would be preferred to help ensure all of the training slides are viewed.

The “Add Interactive Component” button on the left hand tool bar is grayed out and displays “temporarily unavailable” when I hover over it with the cursor.

Adobe Customer Care states that the ability to add button feature is not available on slides imported from PowerPoint.  The button feature was available in Captivate Classic.  Why is it not available in the latest captivate software?

What are other options for forced navigation from slide to slide?

As you noted, when you convert a PPT file, it becomes static slides (not responsive). All the missing features are responsive only. IMO, it’s better to recreate the PPT presentation.

You can extract the PPT graphics by making a copy of the file, change the PPTX extension to .zip, open the zip file, look for the PPT folder, and then look for the Media folder. Copy that folder out to the desktop.

    You can copy-and-paste the text.
